Those who served up to the end of 1959 can apply for the badge
Bolton MP Brian Iddon is urging people who fought in the Suez Conflict to get in touch to claim their Veterans' Lapel badges from the Ministry of Defence.

Dr Iddon is encouraging those in his Bolton South East constituency to apply in time for Veterans Day on 27 June.

Everyone who served in HM Armed Forces up to the new deadline of 31 December 1959 is eligible for the badge.

It is also available to those in the Cyprus Regiment, the Home Guard and the Polish Forces under UK Control.

Dr Iddon said: "We are about to mark the first UK Veterans Day on 27th June and it is therefore timely to remind any veteran who has not yet claimed their badge that they are able to do so.

"The badge is designed to be worn on civilian clothing, thereby allowing veterans to show their dedication to everyone at any time they choose."

Forms are available from Dr Iddon's office or the Veteran's Agency direct.
