Two England supporters have been arrested for having their bodies painted with Nazi insignia at the side's opening World Cup game. The pair, aged 21 and 24, from Bolton have been released on bail pending a decision whether to prosecute them.
A spokeswoman for the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in Germany confirmed the fans had been arrested in the Waldstadion in Frankfurt.
But she said no personal details would be released about the pair.
The men were arrested as England beat Paraguay 1-0.
German law
They are accused of daubing the symbols on their bare torsos. Displaying Nazi signs is an offence under German law.
The men were released after paying a surety and allowed to remain in the country but could be prosecuted later.
Robert Schaefer, the operational commander of German police in Frankfurt, said they were among a total of 13 England fans arrested in the city on Saturday for offences including assault and criminal damage, being drunk and disorderly, trying to steal match tickets, and possessing cannabis.
There were also eight arrests in Cologne early on Sunday outside the railway station for public order and assault matters.
Mr Schaefer said: "Overall, there were 80 arrests over the last few days from various nationalities and for a variety of minor offences like criminal damage, showing of unconstitutional symbols like swastikas and verbal assaults."
British prosecutors are working around the clock with German CID to get information back to the UK, so those fans who are accused of causing trouble can be considered for football banning orders when they return.
