 Cleveland Campbell is accused of grievous bodily harm |
An star of the soap opera Emmerdale has appeared in court accused of punching a friend of a Hollyoaks actress. Cleveland Campbell, 28, from Milnrow, Rochdale, was out celebrating Gemma Atkinson's 21st birthday when he was allegedly involved in a brawl.
The incident is said to have taken place at the Village Hotel and Leisure Club in Bury last November.
Mr Campbell, who plays Danny Daggert, was charged with grievous bodily harm at Rochdale Magistrates' Court.
A friend of Ms Atkinson, who plays Lisa Hunter in the Channel Four soap, was punched in the face in an alleged fight.
Electrician Danny Stable, 20, suffered a broken jaw outside the bar at the Waterfold business park.
Campbell was released on unconditional bail to return to Rochdale Magistrates' Court on 19 June.
A second man, Roberto Brollini, 28, of Clegg Street in Haslingden, Lancashire, is also charged with assault in connection with the incident.
