Police fear fans angry at the Glazer takeover will cause disruption |
Plans to show the FA Cup Final live on the BBC Manchester Big Screen have been shelved on police advice. A Greater Manchester Police statement said police intelligence signalled there was potential for disruption and disorder if the game was shown live.
The police would not give further details, but the BBC understands the intelligence is related to protests against Malcolm Glazer's takeover.
However, Saturday's game will be shown on the BBC Screen in Liverpool.
Manchester United are playing Arsenal at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
It will be the last FA Cup final to be held there, as the redeveloped Wembley Stadium is due to be completed before next year's final.
