The Grey Horse Inn will offer both pub and post office services
Customers at a Cheshire pub will be able to pick up their pensions as well buy a pint from Monday.

The Grey Horse Inn, on Warrington Road in Glazebury, Warrington, is to start offering post office services.

The new Post Office will be open Monday to Saturday from 0900 to 1400 GMT. The pub will also offer tea, coffee and cakes as part of the service.

Landlady Diane Nicholson said: "We are giving people back something which was lost when the old Postmaster retired."

The village post office closed last year following the retirement.

Mrs Nicholson said: "Post Offices and pubs have both got a lot in common.

"Both play vital roles in a community like ours - people meet and chat in them both - and things like this strengthen our society."

Mrs Nicholson's son Dave and daughter Rachael will help to staff the post office.
