Detectives in Manchester are hunting two burglars who attacked a 72-year-old man in his home with a baseball bat. The masked men are believed to have entered a house on Ackroyd Avenue, Abbey Hey, and assaulted the man before running off with his wallet.
They ran from the back of the house and over the fields towards Abbey Hey Lane, after the assault on Wednesday night.
The victim suffered a broken rib and was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary where he was described as "stable".
