Loving couples are being invited to a romantic movie screening at a derelict Manchester monastery to raise funds for its restoration project. Gorton Monastery, on Gorton Lane, will be transformed into a cinema with a 32-foot wide screen.
A movie version of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, will be shown ahead of Valentine's Day on Monday.
Independent retailer Music Zone is sponsoring the event.
The company has pledged to raise �4,500 for the monastery's restoration appeal including support from ticket sales.
The interior of the monastery has been re-modelled to re-create the story's famous death scene - complete with candles, arched windows and ornate stone carvings.
Drag queens emerging from dry ice, "angels" dancing on podiums and a choir singing the film soundtrack are part of a live performance before the film is shown.
