A bride has chosen her dog to be chief bridesmaid at her wedding. Sonia Wilde, 29, will walk down the aisle in Stockport, Greater Manchester with the Collie cross, Lucy Brown, at her side.
The three-year-old will even be dressed in a pink frilly dress and bonnet for the service at St Matthew's Church.
Miss Wilde, and her fianc� Steve Begley, 25, both from Stockport, have also ditched traditional wedding music in favour of Club Tropicana by Wham!
The pair got special permission from the Rev Brian Statham for their canine attendant.
He said: "I'm sure the bride will be lovely - but the bridesmaid will look a bit wuff.
"It is quite bizarre really, the most unusual request I have heard in 26 years as a vicar.
"Then reason and logic kicked in and I thought, 'Well, I've had dogs at funerals because they have been the life-long partners of people, so why not at a wedding?' "
