Tram crash closes Metrolink line
Metrolink services in Manchester were disrupted on Sunday after a bin truck was in collision with a tram.

The crash happened at about 1030 BST at the Salford Quays stop, near to the Copthorne Hotel.

A man was cut from the wreckage of the truck and taken to Salford's Hope Hospital. His condition is unknown but not thought to be life-threatening.

Emergency crews were still at the scene on Sunday lunchtime and the Eccles line remained closed.

A Metrolink spokesman said: "We are attempting to arrange a replacement bus service which will operate between Piccadilly Gardens and Salford Quays."
