No-frills flights for Germany
Manchester Airport
The airport offers flights to seven German destinations
A low-cost airline has begun new flights between Manchester and Germany.

German carrier V Bird Airlines is offering one-way fares on the route on the weekday flights, costing from �27, to Niederrhein, near Dusseldorf.

Niederrhein is the seventh destination in Germany to be served from Manchester Airport.

There are already regular services to Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart.

In addition to the weekday flights, a Sunday service will also operate from 1 February to 28 March.

V Bird will be using 162-seater Airbus A320s on the route.

Manchester Airport managing director John Spooner said: "Travel is becoming more and more affordable and I am delighted to add Niederrhein to our growing route network."
