Manchester United and Wales midfielder Ryan Giggs has become a father for the first time after his girlfriend gave birth to a daughter. Stacey Cooke gave birth to the baby girl seven weeks prematurely on Wednesday morning, according to the club's website.
The baby weighed in at just over 3lbs 6oz and is now being cared for in an incubator at hospital, the website said.
A statement said the child was breathing on her own and that mother and baby were both doing well.
The baby is the third to be born to a Manchester United player in two weeks.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became a father for the second time last week when his wife Silje gave birth to daughter Karne.
Two weeks ago Luke Chadwick's wife gave birth to a son, Louis.
