Teenager Ben Kinsella was stabbed to death after feeling "scared and anxious" about a group of youths outside a bar, the Old Bailey heard.

Ben, 16, was stabbed 11 times after leaving a bar in Islington, north London, in June of last year.

His sister, EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella, broke down as Ben's friend Michael recounted his last moments.

Juress Kika, 19, Michael Alleyne, 18, and Jade Braithwaite, 20, all of London, deny murdering Ben.

The witness, who can only be identified by his first name, wept as he told the court how he had taken the teenager in his arms after Ben had said: "I have been stabbed."

Michael said he his group of friends had become "scared and anxious" after leaving the bar and noticing a group of three youths behind them.

"We kept looking back," he said. "I got a bit scared myself. Our group started picking up speed.

"I remember someone saying: 'Why are we running? Let's not run'. Next thing I remember, we were all running. When I looked back the three men were all running as well.

"I remember my name being called, 'Mike'. It was Ben. When I turned round Ben was walking towards me."

He continued: "I remember going back towards Ben, walking towards each other.

"I remember him saying: 'Mike, I have been stabbed', and I remember putting my arm round him."

Michael's testimony tailed off as Ms Kinsella and her mother wept uncontrollably.

The trial was adjourned until next week.
