Londoners with mobility issues can help organisers improve venues

The organisers of the 2012 Olympic Games are asking people with disabilities to help them identify areas that will need improved access.

Deputy Mayor Richard Barnes said Mayor Boris Johnson's accessibility survey will highlight key problem areas.

Mr Barnes said the aim is to ensure that all paralympian athletes and spectators enjoy accessible Games.

The mayor's office hopes to work with hotels, restaurants and tourist officials to improve key areas.

"The 2012 Games belong to everybody and I hope as many people as possible respond to our survey so that we can work with the tourism and hospitality industry to prepare our city for a fantastic, inclusive Olympics," Mr Barnes said.

New sponsor

The call for input comes as Olympic organisers secured another sponsor for the Games.

Digital design firm Crystal, which helped produce the opening ceremony for the Beijing Olympics, becomes the 16th domestic sponsor.

London 2012 chairman Lord Coe said: "Sport presentation is difficult to get right, but it's something we're spending a lot of time thinking about. Crystal will help us deliver this at Games time."

The firm will create digital images and animation to boost the profile of London's Games.
