A teenager has appeared in court accused of murdering a semi-professional footballer. Oliver Kingonzila, 19, was found with stab wounds outside the E Bar in Croydon, south London, on Saturday morning and died shortly afterwards. Triston Burke, 18, of Stanton Road, Croydon, appeared at the town's magistrates' court on Wednesday, charged with Mr Kingonzila's murder. He was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey in December. Mr Kingonzila, from Croydon, was described as a "gentle giant" by friends, and was studying business at college. He had captained the Barnet under-19 football team and the England Colleges FA in a match against Italy. He was the 26th teenager to meet a violent death in London. An 18-year-old also arrested in connection with the killing has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
