In numbers - three months as mayor

BBC London's Jonathan Josephs has been crunching the numbers of Boris Johnson's first three months as mayor of London.


Two - of the mayor's advisers have been forced to resign.

Chief political adviser James McGrath resigned over inappropriate remarks made to a website and deputy mayor for Young People Ray Lewis resigned after allegations of past financial irregularities and the revelation that he was not, as he had claimed, a Justice of the Peace.

One - Pounds, per year in salary that the first deputy mayor will take home.

Tim Parker made an estimated �40m from his time running the AA.

15 - Gifts declared so far by Boris Johnson on the City Hall register of interests.

They include a cycle helmet presented to him at Mayor's Question Time by Labour Assembly member Val Showcross after a newspaper filmed the mayor riding around the capital without one.

He has also received a crystal apple and five neck warmer face masks.

137,579 - how many pounds Boris Johnson will receive for each year he runs London.

It compares to �61,820 that he used to receive as a Member of Parliament.

60 - Days that Boris Johnson's first appointment stayed in office.

Ray Lewis was forced to resign after allegations about past financial irregularities came to light.

2,900,000 - pounds saved by scrapping The Londoner newspaper.

Some of the money saved by scrapping the newsletter which informed the capitals residents of what the mayor was up to will go towards planting 10,000 new trees.

745 - pence is the current rate of the Living Wage for London after Boris Johnson raised it.

The rate is an ideal at which City Hall regards a Londoner to live a comfortable life in the city.

1,168,738 - The total number of votes that Boris Johnson received to be elected Mayor of London.

It made him the capital's first "million vote mayor" and gave him the biggest personal mandate that any British politician has ever had.

440 - New Police Community Support Officers are to be rolled out as a dedicated force to police bus-hubs and crackdown on anti-social behaviour.
