Singer Amy Winehouse's husband has admitted assaulting a pub landlord and perverting the course of justice.

Blake Fielder-Civil, of Camden, north London, has admitted attacking James King, 36, at the Macbeths pub in Hoxton, east London, in June 2006.

Three other men also admitted perverting the course of justice at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

One of them, Michael Brown, 25, of Carshalton, Surrey, also admitted assault causing grievous bodily harm.

Anthony Kelly, 25, from Chalk Farm, north London, and James Kennedy, 19, from Hatfield, Hertfordshire, were the other defendants who admitted perverting the course of justice.

Mr King, of Risley, Derbyshire, pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice and faces a trial which is due to begin on Tuesday.

The guilty pleas were made during a week of pre-trial legal argument.

Judge David Radford lifted an order banning the reporting of the case and also an accusation that Mr King could have been subjected to intimidation.
