A civil servant accused of murdering a teenager found beaten and stabbed has appeared in court. Michael Alexander Jones, 18, was found dead at his home in Edmonton, north London, last Thursday.
A post-mortem examination revealed he died from severe head injuries and a stab wound to the chest.
Tony Paul, 45, of Enfield, north London, appeared at Enfield Magistrates' Court on Saturday and was remanded into custody.
He will next appear at the Old Bailey on 27 June.
Missing BMW
Mr Jones was studying geography at Queen Mary, University of London.
Detectives are appealing for help in tracing some of his personal possessions which are missing from the family home.
They include a gold chain, a ring and a pair of glasses.
Police are also keen to find a blue 3 Series BMW (318 saloon SE), registration number N118 FLA.
