Motorists get free Easter parking
Penalty parking notice
Most parking tickets will not be issued over Easter
Motorists in central London have four days of free parking during the Easter bank holiday weekend.

For the first time, Westminster City Council has closed its CCTV parking cameras and pay-by-phone service.

Free parking stickers have been put up across Westminster's parking meters and pay and display machines.

The council said it is an attempt to avoid confusion for motorists over holiday periods and called it a "parking holiday".

Alastair Gilchrist, Westminster City Council's director of parking, said: "This is the first time we have declared a parking holiday across the whole Easter period.

"Every year, motorists are caught out as they are not fully sure if the Saturday is a holiday or not. I hope this avoids any confusion and drivers make the most of the relaxed rules over this period."
