Free parking for lucky motorist
Rochelle Katz
The system was introduced last year after a six-month pilot
A woman has won three months of free parking in central London after becoming the one millionth person to pay for her parking by mobile phone.

Rochelle Katz, 47, won the prize, worth almost 3,000, after she became the one millionth person to use Westminster Council's Pay by Phone system.

The cashless scheme was introduced last year, allowing drivers to pay for parking with a phone call or text.

The system operates in about 2,000 bays across Westminster.

Ms Katz, an interior designer from Kensington, central London said: "I wish there was Pay by Phone parking everywhere in London - I use it all the time."
