A teenager has died after a stabbing incident in a London street. The attack happened in Upper Street in Islington at about 1430 GMT on Thursday, police said.
They said officers who were called to the scene found two black teenagers, believed to be aged 16 and 17, who had both been stabbed.
The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The other youth is being treated in hospital where his injuries are not life-threatening.
The police said an 18-year-old man from Islington had been arrested nearby in connection with the attack and was due to be questioned by detectives investigating the death.
A police spokesperson added that efforts were currently being made to identify the stabbed victims.
The latest death brings the number of young people killed in stabbings and shootings on London's streets in 2007 to 26.
