Murder charge against man dropped
Abukar Mahamud
Abukar Mahamud died from a single wound
A murder charge against a man over the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old youth has been dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

David Taitt, 20, of Cassell House, Stockwell, south London, was due to appear at the Old Bailey on 1 November.

Abukar Mahamud was killed by a single gunshot wound to the neck at the Stockwell Gardens Estate in July.

A CPS spokesperson said there was "insufficient evidence to proceed with the case" against Mr Taitt.

The Met's Operation Trident team, which investigates gun crime in the black community, will continue the inquiry, police said.
