Six Westminster post offices have closed since 2003 |
Post office counters in one part of London could be saved if council plans to run them within local authority buildings are given the go-ahead. Westminster City Council is holding talks with Post Office bosses about the feasibility of the scheme.
The proposals could see post offices being run from local libraries, one stop shops and other council buildings.
Westminster currently has 24 post offices and since 2003 six have been closed down.
Councillor Tony Devenish said: "This is an incredible opportunity which we would sorely regret if we did not at least explore how we can make it happen."
