March against gun and knife crime
About 100 people took to the streets in a ceasefire march in south London urging members of local gangs to end the use of guns and knives.

The group, which included families of victims, walked from Catford town centre to Lewisham police station.

A minute's silence was also observed for Emmanuel Odenewu, 19, who was fatally stabbed nearby in December.

Since January, eight teenagers have been murdered in the city in a spate of shootings and stabbings.

The mothers of some of the victims wore T-shirts carrying a picture of their dead sons.

Mr Odenewu's mother, the Reverend Nancy Odenewu, said: "Its time for us to live in unity and if the whole community can see our passion and our loss, maybe the young people will actually think again before they take to the streets with their knives."
