The funeral has been held of a teenager killed in a shooting at a south-west London ice rink.

James Andre Smartt-Ford, of New Malden, south-west London, was shot twice at Streatham Ice Arena on 3 February.

James, 16, was laid to rest at the United Reform Church on Streatham High Road in south London at noon.

Seven youths and an 18-year-old man were arrested over the incident and bailed to return. No charges have been laid against them.

Another person has also been bailed in relation to the shooting.

Calls for information

James's family said: "To everyone who has sent their condolences, we want to thank you all for the expressed love, warmth and kindness shared during this time."

The shooting took place during a disco attended by up to 350 people.

James was shot near the entrance to the venue at about 2300 GMT and later died in hospital.

Earlier this month, his family visited the rink to repeat their calls for information about his death.
