The girlfriend of Adam Regis, who was stabbed to death in east London, has recalled the last words he spoke during a phone call as his attackers struck. Rachel Harman, 16, described how during the conversation Adam, 15, suddenly fell silent and begun running before the line went dead.
She said there was no answer when she called back. Later she was told by police Adam had been injured.
Adam had been stabbed in the chest and abdomen and died on Saturday night.
Earlier that night the couple and three friends had been to the cinema in Beckton to watch the hip-hop film Stomp The Yard.
Rachel said Adam had made sure everyone had got home safely and walked the last person home from Forest Gate to Plaistow.
Fun day
It was at about 2130 GMT when he called to say he was "OK" and on his way home.
She said: "We were both talking about how we had had fun that day and that we must do it again.
"Then I heard him running, he didn't say anything...but I could hear the wind as he ran.

"I just said to him: 'Adam, what's the matter, why are you running?' and that was it. The phone went dead."
Despite calling him back there was no answer and her mother and father went out to see if they could find him.
"Not long after, I got a call from the police, saying Adam had been involved in an incident," she said.
He had collapsed after being stabbed at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road in Plaistow.
Rachel's parents went to the hospital, leaving their daughter with a relative waiting for news.
The next morning she awoke to hear about Adam's death on the news.
