A teenager has been stabbed to death during a disturbance involving youths on a north London street. Police were called to the incident, involving a group of youths on Tollington Way, Islington, at 2030 BST on Tuesday.
Paramedics arrived and treated the youth - believed to be in his mid teens - but he died at the scene.
Witness Sadik Turan, 21, said the boy was chased by up to 10 youths who then attacked him.
'Brave heart'
Mr Turan described the victim as "the most sweetest kid ever" who was still at school.
"He was a brave heart. All he wanted to do was to be like his dad and to be a builder and now he isn't going to get the chance because of these teenagers," he said.
A police spokeswoman there were several witnesses and they were keeping an open mind about the motive for the attack.
She added: "We are in the process of informing his next of kin and officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are at the scene."
She said it was not clear at this stage how many people were involved in the disturbance.
