Ex-England football star Paul Gascoigne has been questioned on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm. The 39-year-old midfielder was released on bail after his arrest at a nightclub in South Kensington, west London, in the early hours.
He was held after a 43-year-old man alleged that he had been assaulted at a different nightclub. It is not thought he required hospital treatment.
Gascoigne is due to return to Chelsea police station in December.
He began his career at Newcastle United and also played for clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Glasgow Rangers, Italian side Lazio, Middlesbrough and Everton.
