 King's Cross is to become a 24-hour international hub |
A �2bn redevelopment project in King's Cross, central London, has been given the go-ahead. Camden Council approved the draft plans by developer Argent following six years of negotiations.
More than 67 acres of railway land is due to be regenerated with 2,000 new homes, offices and leisure facilities.
The area will become a 24-hour international arrival point with the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link terminus at St Pancras.
However, heritage campaigners fear historic Victorian buildings will be bulldozed to make way for office blocks and new spaces.
Argent insists its plans will respect the heritage of King's Cross, and will see new uses for more than 20 historic buildings.
