Extra staff have been deployed at City Airport |
Most flights are still operating in and out of London City Airport. Travellers though are being warned to expect 45-minute delays as extra security measures are put in place following a foiled terror plot.
A spokeswoman from the airport said only a handful of flights had been cancelled and as with all UK airports, no hand luggage was allowed in cabins.
Arrests were made over alleged plans to detonate explosive devices smuggled in hand luggage on to up to 10 aircraft.
About 200 aeroplanes from 15 airlines take-off and land at City airport in Royal Docks, east London, every day.
Most are domestic flights or destined for Europe.
The airport spokeswoman said extra staff had been deployed.
"Passengers will experience queues, but we are able to process passengers," she added.
