A man has been accused of trying to kill a woman by pushing her on to a railway track. Jason Searle, 31, from Carshalton, Surrey, has been charged with attempting to murder the 51-year-old woman.
He is also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on her.
British Transport Police say the woman was waiting for a train at Sutton Common station, Surrey, late on April 28 when the attack happened.
After being pushed from behind on to the tracks, she was violently assaulted.
Her screams alerted passers-by and her attacker ran off.
She required 30 stitches to head wounds.
Mr Searle was arrested last Thursday and appeared before Wimbledon magistrates on Saturday where he was remanded in custody.
