Family's tribute over Charlotte
Charlotte Polius
Charlotte's family said she was "helpful" and "playful"
The parents of teenager Charlotte Polius - who was killed at a party - have paid tribute to their "very loving, very kind" daughter.

Mary and Paul Foley said support from church members was helping them deal with the loss of a "playful" daughter.

Charlotte, 15, was killed on Sunday morning after being stabbed in the neck after an argument at a house party.

A 17-year-old Brentwood girl appeared in court on Tuesday accused of murdering Charlotte at the party.

Charlotte's family - including stepfather Paul, 33, brother Dion, 10, and a three-year-old stepsister in Carroll, Close, Stratford, east London - said they had been overwhelmed by messages of support from their local church, The Arc.

Mother Mary Foley, 42, said: "We have been devastated. I suppose when I read the papers about parents that lose their children in these circumstances you see them crying and are uncontrollable.

"With myself, because I have got Jesus in my life and he is so real to me, I can cope.

"My church brothers and sisters are praying for us and that helps," she said.

The family had also been given flowers and condolence cards from Charlotte's friends and neighbours.

The 17-year-old girl from Brentwood, Essex, who cannot be named due to her age, was remanded in custody until 19 April by Redbridge Youth Court.

Detectives have asked parents whose children may have been at the party to contact police.
