The adverts promote the Tube as one of the best ways to travel
London Underground (LU) has put up some classic posters to encourage people to get on the Tube and explore the city.

The vintage posters from the 1920s and 1930s have slogans such as "The daffodils are out - what about you?" and "Spring beckons you!"

LU and the London Transport Museum selected the classic posters from its archive of designs.

The adverts were created to promote the Tube as one of the best ways to get around London.

LU's Andrew Jones said the posters were created to encourage Londoners to use the Tube as one of the "quickest and most reliable ways to see more of their city".

He added: "That remains true to this day and we hope 21st century Tube users will enjoy these posters just as much".
