Crime scene
One man died in a police chase after the raid
Three men have been remanded in custody over a failed jewellery store raid in which one suspect died.

Anthony Bates, 48, James Nicholson, 19, and Nicolas Walters, 20, all of London, faced aggravated burglary charges at West London Magistrates' Court.

They are due to next appear at Blackfriars Crown Court on Thursday.

The dead man was hit by a police car as he fled on a moped after an attempted raid at Tiffany & Co in Sloane Square, west London, early on Thursday.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has launched an investigation into the death.

Mr Nicholson, unemployed of Halton Road, Islington; Mr Bates, also unemployed, of Richmond Grove, Islington; and Mr Walters, unemployed, of no fixed abode were charged on Friday.
