Syon House is being touted as a tourist attraction |
A drive has begun in London to encourage more tourists to head further west than Theatreland. The London Development Agency and West London Business are hoping to increase the area's stake in the English capital's 15bn tourism industry.
Fuller's brewery in Chiswick and Syon Park house and Harrow School are among the attractions being flagged up.
The plans are being outlined at the Chelsea Football Club's Stamford Bridge stadium later.
Frank Wingate, chief executive of the West London Business Group told BBC News he wanted to attract businesses to get together to promote tourism.
He said: "The point is to make sure that we have an industry which is growing and which is attracting more visitors and which is developing some of this unknown potential of west London.
"We are thinking of areas like Southall with a strong Asian community which has a lot of visitors from the Indian sub-continent and is an obvious attraction to bring people in from both the UK and outside, but hasn't really been fully developed as a tourist destination.
