Recycling to aid green Christmas
Londoners may not have had a white Christmas but councils are encouraging residents to ensure it is green by recycling their seasonal goods.

Many London boroughs are offering Christmas tree recycling and are asking for them to be dropped off at temporary and permanent recycling centres.

Some councils are even offering to pick up trees from homes.

Cards and wrapping paper can be also be recycled. Local council websites give full details of services.

Christmas trees will be recycled by being chipped and made into mulch for green projects and parks.
