Buckingham Palace's state rooms opened to the public on Saturday with an exhibition on 250 years of music. The display reveals how Queen Victoria, the first monarch to take up residence in the palace, loved to dance.
Visitors can look at the state rooms, home to some of the greatest treasures in the royal collection, including paintings by Rembrandt and Reubens.
The state rooms are open to the public until September 26 - the 12th consecutive summer for visitors.
A ball dress of cream silk taffeta worn by Queen Victoria in the early years of her reign will also be on display.
And in the Ball Supper Room visitors will be able to see manuscripts, photographs and souvenirs.
