Antoinette Rodney said she had "lost the perfect son" |
Police hunting for the killer of a 15-year-old boy in west London have been searching a park near where he was stabbed. The hunt for three masked youths seen fleeing after Kieran Rodney-Davis was stabbed in the chest was continuing in South Park, Fulham, on Thursday.
Kieran is thought to have been the victim of an attempted robbery in Daisy Lane at 1445 BST on Wednesday.
His mother Antoinette Rodney, 37, said she had lost "the perfect son".
On Wednesday night, she said she was "still waiting for Kieran to walk through the door".
She said: "It's all wrong. He was only 15 years old and he's never been in trouble before.
Tributes to Kieran were left at the scene of the stabbing |
"He was never in a group and was always helping people and helping his gran go shopping, and then this happens." The teenager was studying GCSEs and a media studies course at Phoenix High School in Shepherds Bush, but was off sick on Wednesday.
He had gone to a nearby shop when, according to a friend who was with him at the time, three youths approached him and demanded his mobile phone.
The friend told BBC London: "They asked us for our phone and he said no and then they took the hat off him and he asked for it back, then they stabbed him.
"He walked about 100 yards and he just fell to the floor and I thought he was joking. I turned him over and there was all blood rushing out of him."
Assistance from community
Kieran was taken to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital but died from his injury.
Police said three youths, described as black and aged about 15, were seen running away with balaclavas or bandana-style scarves over their faces.
They are thought to have run off along Daisy Lane, on to Peterborough Road and towards Wandsworth Bridge.
Det Ch Insp Dave Little said: "We have received the full assistance of the community, but need further help from the public to track down those responsible."
