A teenager has been arrested after a 16-year-old student was stabbed to death in east London. Robert Levy was fatally injured in a street fight between two gangs of school children in Hackney Grove, Hackney, at about 1600 BST on Thursday.
Police said a knife had been found in the area but they could not confirm whether it was linked to the death.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Friday and was due to be questioned, Scotland Yard said.
Additional patrols
The victim, who police do not believe was part of a gang, is thought to have been stabbed after an argument with another male youth.
He was found collapsed in Reading Lane by passing police officers and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Brown said: "The victim had recently been successful in 10 GCSE exams and has just started sixth form college.
"He had no known links to any gangs in the area and did not have a police history."
Police said additional patrols were being drafted in after the stabbing.
