Anton Hyman's body was pulled from the River Brent |
A teenager, whose body was pulled from the River Brent, had been stabbed through the heart and shot in the back. Anton Hyman, 17, of Joseph Avenue, Acton, west London, was spotted in the river near High Lane, Greenford, by a passer-by on Sunday morning.
A post-mortem examination revealed he had been stabbed several times and shot in the back.
Mr Hyman was last seen at 2000 GMT on Saturday near KFC in Ealing Broadway, getting into a minicab.
Police are keen to speak to the minicab driver to trace the teenager's last movements.
'Not gang member'
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton, of the Metropolitan Police, said: "The nature of some of the wounds he had suggest it was quite a protracted assault rather than a quick fight.
"We really don't know for certain why this has happened. He had not come to any particular police attention and we do not believe him to be a major player or a member of a gang."
"At the moment we have no evidence to suggest that it's a racist attack."
Detectives are investigating whether he had any connections with drugs or criminals.
The teenager, who was unemployed, lived with his mother and five-year-old sister.
