Man in court over Santa protest
Protester
Ivor Walter spent eight hours on a gantry over the A40
A man dressed as Father Christmas who brought chaos to a West London main road in a protest over fathers' rights, has appeared in court.

Ivor Walter, 43, from Islington, north London, is accused of causing a danger to road users and causing a public nuisance on the A40 near Wood Lane.

He appeared before West London Magistrates on Thursday and was bailed to return on 29 December.

Mr Walter spent eight hours on a gantry over the A40 on Wednesday.

After he began his protest at 0400 GMT, part of the Westway was closed for safety reasons, causing major congestion on surrounding routes.
