Man charged over nightclub shooting

Damian Cope was shot in the stomach
A 24-year-old is due in court charged with the murder of a man who was shot outside a nightclub.

Andrew Wanogho will appear before magistrates over the killing of a Damian Cope in July 2002.

Mr Cope was shot in the stomach after leaving Browns nightclub in Holborn, central London.

He managed to stagger back to the club, but died six hours later in hospital.

Mr Wanogho of Deptford, south-east London, is due before Hendon magistrates on Friday.

After his death Lucy Cope, Mr Cope's mother, founded the Mothers Against Guns group which campaigns for a change in firearms laws.
