Rush hour delays on Eurostar

The train arrived two hours late at Waterloo
Hundreds of passengers were trapped on a Eurostar train during the evening rush hour after a woman died on the tracks.

The Paris to London Waterloo service was disrupted just before 1800 BST near Orpington station in Kent, after a woman died beneath a train.

Police do not believe the death was suspicious.

The train arrived back in Waterloo at 2045 BST, about two hours late, on its return journey.

Other services were delayed because of diversions around Orpington.

Connex services from London to the Kent coast were still running about 20 minutes late at 2100 BST.

A Connex spokesman said: "It will be a substantial number of services - all trains running out of Charing Cross and Cannon street to the Kent coast.

"Hopefully things will get back to normal after the evening peak."
