Dozens of jobs are to go at an industrial turbine manufacturing factory in Lincolnshire. The 85 redundancies at the Siemens plant in Lincoln are part of a drive to cut administration and support costs.
A spokesman said the company regrets the move, but it was part of a global drive to improve competitiveness.
Managers said they were working closely with trade unions to limit the number of compulsory job losses through a voluntary redundancy programme.
Siemens employs more than 2,000 at its Lincoln plant, which manufactures industrial gas turbines for the oil and gas industry.
