Holy home for life-saving machine
Defibrillator
Twelve cathedral staff have been trained to use the defibrillator
Lincoln Cathedral can now look after "body, mind and spirit" after being issued with life-saving equipment for heart attack victims.

Lincolnshire Ambulance Service has donated a defibrillator to the Minster and trained twelve cathedral staff to use it.

The Dean's verger, John Campbell, said although staff were unsure at first, the equipment was a welcome addition.

Trainers will come to the cathedral every six months to update staff.

Mr Campbell said he hoped they would not have to use the defibrillator.

"In the 16 years I've been at Lincoln Cathedral, I've only seen one major heart attack but it could happen at any time and having the right equipment ready to respond is very important.

"I like to say that we look after the body, mind and spirit and this is the body side taken care of," he said.
