Concern grows over health savings
A high level meeting is taking place to discuss financial troubles surrounding Lincolnshire's NHS.

Representatives from the county's health service are meeting with the Trent Strategic Health Authority to consider plans for change.

A government "turnaround team" has been examining ways of handling the trust's estimated 35m debt.

Fears have been voiced over what measures might be taken to claw back money and the effect on services.

I think there will be some quite big changes announced soon
Martin Hill, Lincolnshire County Council
The Chief Executive of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Roger Paffard, resigned in November and its chairman Jenny Green, unexpectedly resigned on Monday.

The leader of Lincolnshire County Council, Martin Hill, said: "I have got quite a bit of concern about the situation with the health service.

"The chief executive has gone, the chairman has gone and it is obviously a very serious financial situation.

"I think there will be some quite big changes announced soon, some of which will be of concern."
