A team of Lincolnshire archaeologists has received a grant of �24,000 to survey a Lincolnshire Roman road. The group, based in Navenby, has been awarded the cash from the Countryside Agency over a period of three years.
The project will involve the collection of pottery and other artefacts from the surface with experts also conducting tests of the soil.
The discovery of the remains of a Roman settlement and an Anglo-Saxon burial site nearby has prompted interest.
The archaeology group is encouraging members of the community and local schools to get involved with the project.
