A collection of Elvis memorabilia bought by a council worker who embezzled nearly �600,000 is to be sold to compensate the local authority. Julie Wall, 46, from Rippon Drive in Sleaford, was jailed for three years for the offence last October.
Cash from the memorabilia sale will go to North Kesteven District Council.
On Friday, a judge at Lincoln Crown Court granted a compensation order to the council for the return of the cash taken from car-parking meter charges.
Internal audit
The collection - which includes rare recordings and foreign pressings of Elvis songs - will be auctioned off by a High Court receiver to provide compensation.
Wall stole nearly �598,000 over a 10-year period when she was working as a cashier for the local authority, sometimes pocketing up to �10,000 a month, the court heard.
James Dennison, prosecuting, said the crime only came to light last July when an internal audit revealed more than �500,000 was missing from council funds.
Police subsequently seized Wall's collection, which was valued by a number of dealers.
Recorder William Harbage QC told Wall she would face a further three years in jail if the debt was not paid.
Speaking after the case, Det Con Graeme Baker, of the Lincolnshire Police Financial Investigation Unit, said they were determined "get the confiscation orders" and get the victims of crime compensated.
