Green light for incinerator plans
An animal incinerator plant in Lincolnshire is set to expand despite concerns from some local people.

The plant at Walkerith Road in Morton, near Gainsborough, will increase its capacity from 50 kg per hour to 475 kg per hour.

West Lindsey district councillors agreed to the planning application at a meeting on Monday.

They also approved plans to build a new 13m-high chimney stack at the GW Lords incinerator site.

Morton Parish Council chairman Maurice French said some local people were upset with the decision.

"Obviously to work at this rate it will gather carcasses from all over the place, from miles around including Nottinghamshire, Humberside and all of Lincolnshire."
