Luke Walmsley was stabbed in the heart at school |
A fund set up in memory of a murdered schoolboy is nearing the 100,000 mark. The Luke Walmsley Foundation was launched after the 14-year-old was stabbed to death at Birkbeck College, North Somercotes, in November 2003.
Fund organisers aim to raise 500,000. It is hoped the money will be used to build a sports complex near the school.
Luke's dad, Paul, said the family had been overwhelmed by people's support. School pupil Alan Pennell, 16, was detained for life for the murder.
