The first beach watchtower in Lincolnshire will open next month. The National Coastwatch Institute is training volunteers to man the facility at Ingoldmells, near Skegness.
It has taken three years to get the watchtower opened. It is the first of its kind on the Lincolnshire coast and is staffed by unpaid volunteers.
Managers say that, with the school holidays underway, it is the busiest time of year and are appealing for more volunteers to help share the workload.
